Erebus the Lord of Darkness

"The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus: Let no such man be trusted…"

Age: Ancient
Height: Around 6'
Weight: Not nearly as much as he should. Like his sister Nyx, his body is hollow inside.
Appearance: Erebus has two dominant forms, subject to glamour.
  • Human - Used for interacting with mortals and anyone who might be a threat; the coloration tends to change depending on his mood, as he doesn't care what mortals think of him.
  • God - His true physical body. Hair is black as pitch, skin is white and almost ashy. He doesn't need to hide this like his sister, but he does on occasion.
Personality: Centuries of being trapped in the form of a cat has dulled the once vengeful spirit of the God of Darkness. Now he maintains an air of aloof boredom, and many feline tendencies. While he isn't rude per se, his people skills are lacking, and he enjoys teasing and taunting.

Family: Erebus has one child, Eris, and his twin sister Nyx.

History: Erebus had never really cared for the ways of the world until Olympus fell. For reasons only known to him, he became obsessed with wreaking pure havoc on mortals. Nyx being the only Titan left to oppose him battled him at every turn, culminating in a final battle that trapped her at the bottom on the ocean. Two centuries of biding her time and storing power made it so that when she broke free, Erebus was no match for her, and she trapped him in the body of a cat. From then on he lived in her home, his memories becoming destorted over time. Recently, he has been released from his feline form...

Nyx the Night Mother

"A shadowy figure, Night stood at or near the beginning of creation, and was the mother of personified gods such as Sleep and Death."

Age: Ancient
Height: between 5'3" and 5'4"
Weight: Next to nothing; her body is mostly comprised of shadows, and despite appearance it is mostly hollow inside.
Appearance: Nyx has 3 predominant forms, all subject to Glamour.
  • Shadow -  Used is to appear as a shadow, generally in the shape of human. When out in the open, she can hide in already existing shadows.
  • Human - Used for interacting with mortals and anyone who might be a threat; hair is a deep brown, and her skin is pale but not unnaturally so. This is the most common Glamour used.
  • Goddess - Her true physical body. Hair and skin are white and glimmer like moonlight. This is reserved for people she trusts.
Personality: Before anything else, Nyx is a mother. She is overly kind and compassionate to strangers and friends alike, taking great delight in spoiling people with gifts and praise.  Her words are very candid and blunt, easily misinterpreted  as flirting or rudeness. In actuality, she just wants everyone to feel as loved as possible. She is drawn to monsters and the macabre, perhaps due to how often they are feared and ostracized, or because her own children tend to be monsters themselves. Nyx is easily embarrassed, and quick to talk down about herself, all due to horrible experiences when she first walked among mortals. She also has no experience in the realms of romantic love, and will shy away from expressions of romantic affection, usually due to surprise or confusion. The Goddess also has a broad sense of humor, enjoying teasing or surprising her friends.

Family: Nyx has many children and grandchildren. Nyx also has a twin brother, Erebus, who has been living with her trapped in the body of a cat for many years.

History: In the universe of Nyx's origin, Olympus fell years ago, and very few of the Greek Pantheon remain. Nyx herself never really associated with other Titans or Olympians save her own children, as she rarely took a physical form. However, centuries of watching the time roll by eventually made the Goddess realize how lonely she truly was. She began walking among the humans, first as a shadow, and eventually in the guise of a young woman. Around the 1600s, she made the mistake of venturing to a town the openly practiced witch trials and burnings. She attempted to free two such girls who had been accused but, in her haste, her Glamour slipped. The girls panicked and brought the attention of the townsfolk. Because of their fear, Nyx was unable to save the girls and chose to stay with them until the end. The fire didn't harm her but she committed the scene to memory, and for 3 centuries she couldn't bring herself to be seen by mortals. When Mutants and Monsters became more abundant, she started taking a more active roll in the world, and now she happily interacts with anyone who is not put-off by her.

Abilities: Because Nyx is a Titan, she is not confined to the realm of Night, although her powers are considerably weaker during the day.
